Facilities on Trains of Qinghai-Tibet Railway

The trains on Qinghai-Tibet Railway have all-closed coaches and are appropriate for moving on plateau.

Facilities in the hard sleeper coaches: 6 beds with quilts and pillows. Lukewarm water bottles, salvers, dome lights and smoke alarms. Besides, there are also oxygen supply facilities at the head of each bed. You could take the oxygen with an individual straw directly. Free oxygen is provided from Golmud to Lhasa. There are also medical personnel on the trains. The luggage rack is above the upper berth.

Facilities in the soft sleeper coaches: four beds and all the facilities in the hard sleeper coaches. Besides, there are television, disposable slippers, plug, earphones and independent lights.

There are 44 seats in the dining coach; both the order dishes and set meals are available. You can also make a reservation. The set meal is about 20 RMB one person while the order dishes are relatively more expensive. The western style breakfast is not available here.

Broadcasting service: two or three times a day. The broadcaster would introduce you the information of the Qinghai - Tibet Railway and the situation along the journey in Mandarine, English and Tibetan.

Cell phone signal: there are signals close to the relatively bigger railway stations along the way.

Tourists could enjoy amazing natural landscapes along Qinghai - Tibet Railway: the blue sky and white clouds, the grasslands with flocks and herds, snow-covered mountains, Source of Yangtze River, Hohxil Natural Reserve and some other particular scenery.
