It is reported that the period between November and April of the next year is regarded as the winter season and low season of Tibet tour. An increasing number of tourists both at home and abroad know that Tibet is a place also suitable for sightseeing in winter after a series of introduction & promotion conferences held in different cities in China. Now travel to Tibet in winter is more and more popular among tourists willing to explore the nature and culture in Tibet.

The staffs in relevant tourism departments and travel agencies in Tibet devote themselves into a series of introduction & promotion conferences in different domestic cities (including Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing) after the peak season of Tibet tour. A certain part of visitors attended these conferences said that they are attracted by the pictures regarding the natural landscape and folk customs in Tibet in winter and are willing to pay a visit to Tibet to spend their winter holiday. Some visitors said that they thought it is impossible to go to Tibet for sightseeing in the winter season due to the heavy snow and cold weather before attending the introduction conference. It seems that tourists who've never been to Tibet have a misunderstanding in the weather condition in Tibet in the winter.

In a word, tourists making a Tibet tour in winter could witness the distinctive natural sceneries and unique cultural landscapes in different regions on Tibet Plateau if you have enough time to take those places into your trip schedule.

To promote the Tibet tour in winter and attract more tourists come to Tibet in the winter season, the local government provides great support in the Namtso Winter Tour project and put great emphasis in the introduction & promotion of Namtso Lake. It is reported that tourists travel to Namtso Lake in winter would have the chance to witness a quite amazing natural picture composed of white snow-capped mountains and iced-up lake. The road to Namtso Lake would be open to tourists if the road condition is safe enough.

As a world famous cultural heritage, Potala Palace has been one of the must-visit spot for tourists come to Tibet in different seasons. Potala Palace would be repainted after the rainy season every year. Tourists making a Tibet tour in winter could acquire a completely new look of Potala Palace. For tourists eager to go to Tibet but don't have time in summer, the winter is also a good season. It would be easier for tourists to get the train tickets to Tibet for the supply of the tickets is much larger than the demand.
