Tibet Airlines will open the flights from Lhasa to Hangzhou and Tianjin on Oct.27th

Lhasa-Hangzhou Flight

It is reported that Tibet Airlines is planning to open two new flights from Lhasa to Tianjin and Hangzhou on Oct.27th. These two new flights will fly to Tianjin and Hangzhou(Zhejiang Province)via Mianyang and Yibin in Sichuan Province respectively. Tourists planning to make a Tibet tour by air will have more choices in the entrance cities.

Tibet Tourism Bureau has carried out the "Tibet Tour in Winter" program for many years and this year is the tenth anniversary of that program, according to relevant staff in Tibet Airlines. At the transit period of the winter flights to spring flights, Tibet Airlines decides to open the Lhasa-Mianyang-Tianjian flight and the Lhasa-Yibin-Hangzhou flight to meet the demand of tourists willing to pay a visit to Tibet from these cities. In addition, Tibet Airlines will also open the Chengdu-Haikou-Sanya flight and the Chengdu-Sanye-Chengdu flight.

Currently, there is no direct flight from Lhasa to Mianyang, Yibin, Tianjin or Hangzhou. Tourists planning to make a Tibet tour from these cities have to make a transfer at Chengdu, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing or some other domestic cities. The newly open Lhasa-Mianyang-Tianjian and Lhasa-Yibin-Hangzhou flights will provide great convenience for the businessmen and tourists traveling between Lhasa and those cities. The two new flights will also play important role in reliving the Tibet air transportation stress in the peak season. Both tourists and home and abroad could fly to Lhasa from Mianyang, Tianjin, Yibin and Hangzhou if you are in eastern China or northern China.

According to the latest flight information released by Tibet Airlines, the Lhasa-Yibin-Hangzhou flight (TV9827/9828) will set off from the Tibet Gonggar Airport at 09:40 a.m. and arrive in Yibin at 11:45 a.m. After a 50-minute stop in Yibin, TV9827 will leave for Hangzhou at 12:35 p.m. and finally land on Hangzhou at 15:05. TV9828 will leave Hangzhou for Yibin at 16:05 p.m. and departure for Lhasa from Yibin at 19:50. It will finally get back to Lhasa at 22:10 p.m. This flight is planning to be open to tourists on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Lhasa-Mianyang-Tianjin flight (TV9845/9846) will be open to passengers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. TV9845 will leave Lhasa for Mianyang at 09:35 a.m. After a one-hour stop in Mianyang, it will continue its journey to Tianjian at 12:40 p.m. and finally arrive in Tianjin at 15:05 p.m. Then TV9846 will departure Tianjin for Mianyang at 15:55 and make its way back to Lhasa from Mianyang at 19:30 p.m. It is about 22:00 p.m. when it lands on Lhasa Gonggar Airport.

Tourists planning to leave Lhasa by air after your Tibet tour should note that Lhasa Gonggar Airport will stop handling your check-in matters 40 minutes in advance of your departure time. To avoid missing the flight, passengers are strongly suggested to get to the airport in time. There is shuttle bus between the airport and the down town. It would be a very cost-effective way for domestic visitors join the Tibet group tours. For foreign tourists, your guide and driver are required to transport you to the airport on the last day of your Tibet trip.
