The ecological tourism industry in Nyingchi develops vigorously

It is reported that the ecological tourism industry in Nyingchi Prefecture develops vigorously this year. Nyingchi Prefecture has received 132,730 visitors in the first quarter of 2013 and that number increased 19.49 percent compared to the same period of last year. Nyingchi Prefecture has realized a total tourism revenue of 103.9 million RMB which increased 61.62 percent compared to the same period of 2012.

According to the director of Nyingchi Tourism Bureau, there are many reasons contribute to the vigorous development of the ecological tourism industry in Nyingchi. The high season of Nyingchi tour comes earlier compared to the past years – a large number of tourists enter to Nyingchi in early March before the celebration of the annul Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival. In fact, the Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival plays important role in the tourism industry of Nyingchi Prefecture in the first quarter of a year. It attracts a large quantity of tourists both at home and abroad here to enjoy the charming peach blossom landscape. The series of introduction & promotion conferences regarding Tibet tour held in different domestic cities win a lot of attraction from tourists.

The distinctive natural scenery and mysterious folk customs in Tibet attract a large number of shutterbugs. To enhance the cultural exchange and national unity, the Tibet Daily and Tianjin Daily launched a photographing project in Nyingchi during the Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival this year. The participants of this project would have the chance to record the unique snow landscape, magnificent Grand Canyon, holy lakes and rich cultural relics with their camera. Remote areas in Tibet, such as Bome in Nyingchi County, were arranged in this special photographing tour.
