Price of the Entrance Ticket of Potala Palace in Tibet will be Increased since June

The price of the entrance ticket of four scenic spots in Tibet will be increased since June 1st according to Tibet Tourism Bureau. It is reported that Potala Palace, Tshilhunpo Monastery, Palkhor Monastery and Baksumtso are include in the four scenic spots.

Potala Palace is one of the must-go scenic spots in Lhasa. It enjoys high reputation among tourists both at home and abroad for its rich cultural and historical collections. Most of the tourists would like to make a visit to Potala Palace firstly during their Lhasa tours. It receives thousands of tourists each day during the peak season of Tibet tour. The price of the entrance ticket of Potala Palace would be increased from 100 RMB per person to 200 RMB per person.

Palkhor Monastery in Gyantze is one of the most famous scenic spots in Shigatse Prefecture. It has a typical Tibetan Buddhism architecture which integrated the architectural style of stupa and temple. The price of the entrance ticket of Palkhor Monastery has been increased from 30 RMB to 60 RMB. The price of the entrance ticket of Tashilhunpo Moanastery has been increased from 40 RMB to 80 RMB in the high season of Tibet tour. It is noted as the residence of Panchen Lamas.

Baksumtso is one of the most noted natural landscapes in Nyingchi Prefecture. It shapes like a new moon inlaid among the high mountains and deep canyons. The price of the entrance ticket of Baksumtso will be increased to 120 RMB per person in the high season. Nyingchi is noted as the Switzerland in Tibet. Tourists here could witness the picturesque natural landscape.

The high season of Tibet tour starts from May 1st and ends on October 31st. Besides, the serviceman, teachers, students, the aged and the disabled could get a 50 percent discount with valid certifications. It is reported that Tibet keeps attracting a large number of tourists since April in 2012. It is predicted that the number of Tibet tour tourists might break 10 millions this year.
