"Happy Tibet" Special Train is Welcomed by a Vast Number of Tourists

Tourists taking the special train to Lhasa don't need to queue up for purchasing the entrance ticket of Potala Palace. The "Happy Tibet" special train is welcomed by a vast number of tourists since it was opened to public in June.

Tibet received 2.818 million tourists both at home and abroad in the first half of 2012 according to the press secretary of Tibet Tourism Bureau. That number increased 25 percent compared to that of the last year. Tibet has achieved a total tourism revenue of 2.4 billion RMB and increased 30 percent compared to the same period of 2011.

The "Happy Tibet" special train was put into operation since June 2012. The special trains are characterized by comfortable and spacious. The oxygen supply on the train is available since the trains are provided by Qinghai-Tibet Railway Enterprise. There are professional doctors on the train who will provide free physical examination for passengers. The "Happy Tibet" special train transfers the largest number of tourists to Tibet since the special train project was put into operation.

The "Happy Tibet" special train would be opened to tourists for a pretty long time in 2012. It was formally put into operation on June 6th and would be in operation till October 6th. It would be available every four days. The special train would set out from Xining to Lhasa and then back to Xining. There are two soft sleeper cabins and 10 hard sleeper cabins on each train. Each of the train could bring 664 passengers to Lhasa.

The "Happy Tibet" special train tours are very cost effective for tourists. Tourists join such kind of Tibet tour packages don't need to queue up for purchasing the entrance ticket of Potala Palace. Tourists could visit Potala Palace through the "green channel" especially opened for the passengers of the special trains.
