Construction of the Integrated Service Center at Namtso Lake will be started this year

The fascinating natural landscapes of lakes and mountains, the magnificent and peaceful grassland scenery of Namtso Lake are of great charm for tourists from different corners of the world. But the limited basic service facilities at Namtso Lake Scenic Area made its good impression greatly reduced. Most of the visitors only spent several hours here and then back to Lhasa due to the poor accommodation condition here.

The Integrated Service Center will be composed of three main parts – the service center, shopping center and exhibition center. Visitors here will enjoy a better service and tourism experience after the Center is completed and put into operation. The specific plateau lake landscape at Namtso Lake made it one of the must-visit spots for tourists making a Tibet tour. Namtso Lake is even more noted after it was listed as a national park in 2012. To attract more tourists and leave tourists a better impression, Namtso Lake National Park is planning to complete its basic service facilities gradually.

Construction of the Viewing Deck at La-ken-la Mountain Pass has been officially started on May 20th, 2013. The parking lot, rest rooms and some other basic facilities could better meet the demands of tourists than ever. It is predicted that this Viewing Deck could be opened to tourists before the end of August. The construction of Namtso Lake National Park is under the premise of the protection of the local resources and environment. Tourists making a Tibet tour and pay a visit to Lake Namtso in May would find that the construction of the Tibetan style gate has been completed.

The limited board and lodging condition at Namtso Lake is a great concern for a lot of tourists planning to visit Namtso Lake. The planning Integrated Service Center will be equipped with the consultancy center, emergency treatment center, oxygen bar, and the collection & distribution center. Then visitors could have a rest in the waiting room and then take the eco-bus for sightseeing at Namtso Lake Scenic Area. The shopping center here will provide visitors the chance to purchase some local specialties and tourism souvenirs.

The construction of Namtso Lake National Park centers on Namtso Lake and will also develop the special natural resources at La-ken-la Mountain Pass and Namtso County. The completed Namtso Lake National Park will be equipped with comprehensive service district, Tibetan culture exhibition district, prairie nomadic custom experience district, plateau lake experience district and vacation experience district. The relevant supporting facilities take main part of the construction of Namtso Lake Scenic Area in 2013, including the road facilities, information service facilities, sightseeing facilities, cultural performance facilities and leisure tourism facilities.

It is reported that an ecological path will also be constructed around Namtso Lake. This path is planning to be paved with gravels for the construction of the natural ecological environment. Then visitors could take a close look of the world famous holy lake. In a world, the completed Namtso Lake National Park will leave tourists a good impression in both the visual sense and auditory sense.
