Three of the 6th Dalai Lama

Due to the complex of the reincarnation system, there are three of the 6th Dalai Lama successively confirmed at the beginning of 18th century.

According to the history record, they are respectively Tsangyang Gyatso,Yxi Gyatso and Kelsang Gyatso.

Yxi Gyatso was confirmed by Qing Dynasty but without acceptation of Mongolian and Tibetan people. Kelsang Gyatso has been confirmed the 7th Dalai Lama later after his death, and the Tsangyang Gyatso has been officially confirmed as the 6th Dalai Lama.

Three of the 6th Dalai Lama - Origin

Tsangyang Gyatso

Before the entrance of the Qing army, the Inner Mongolia and the Outer Mongolia has been defeated by Qing army. The Gelug Sect has developed quickly as the support of Qing Dynasty and Gushri Khan who was the leader of some areas of Tibet Region at that time. Then the political power of Tsang Prefecture has been controlled by the Diba Government of the 5th Dalai Lama.

After the death of the 5th Dalai Lama, Diba Sangyey Gyatso who was the best assistant of the 5th Dalai Lama lied to Qing Dynasty that the 5th Dalai Lama was still alive. He asked the disciple of the 5th Dalai Lama to pretend to be, which has been exposed in Qing Dynasty. After that, Tsangyang Gyatso has been confirmed as the 6th Dalai Lama by Sangyey Gyatso.

Yxi Gyatso

After the death of Gushri Khan, his son Lhabzang Khan took the throne and destroyed the Diba Government. Thus Tsangyang Gyatso has been queried and then died on the way to Beijing. Then, Yxi Gyatso has been confirmed as the 6th Dalai Lama by Lhabzang Khan later without any acceptations of Gelug Sect.

Kelsang Gyatso

In 1717, Lhabzang Khan has been assassinated by the leader of Dzungar Tribe of Mongolia, and then the 6th Dalai Lama Yxi Gyatso has been imprisoned. Due to keep Tibet Region peaceful, Qing Army expelled Dzungar Tribe. At the same time, Qing Dynasty officially confirmed Kelsang Gyatso as the 7th Dalai Lama. And Tsangyang Gyatso has been offciallly confirmed as the 6th Dalai Lama.

By the way, the 6th Dalai Lama of Tsangyang Gyatso was a famous great poet in Tibet Region, who has been admired by most Tibetan people all the time.
