Senqen Namzha Mountain – Brief Introduction

There are grotesque stalagnates, clints and some naturally formed Buddha status in the cave. There were several eminent monks of Nima Sect and Kagyu Sect in Qamdo, such as Deqing Qiujilinba, Garmabaxi Gongzhu Yuandengjiangcuo, ever worshipped there and practiced on the Senqen Namzha Mountain. Senqen Namzha Mountain – Festival

On June 15th in Tibetan Calendar in each year, Tibetans came from far and near will dress splendid attire for festival, take delicious foods and luscious wine and bring along the old and the young to worship this holy mountain. They will worship along the holy hand prints on the circumambulation way, or kowtow toward delicate stone Buddha status and smear ghee. The religious activities used to pray for harvest and safety of men and livestock, dances of expressing happy emotions, picking plant leaves to burn incense and sacrifice, hanging prayer flags and sacrificing cattle and sheep head vividly reflect Tibetans' intense longing of good weather for the crops and ancient wishes of safety of men and livestock.
