Mt. Everest Base Camp is established for protecting the virgin environment around Mt. Everest, located 5200 meters high. It is approximately 19 kilometers away from the top of Mt. Everest. In general we will drive our guests to Rongbuk Monastery and then trek about 7 kilometers to the Mt. Everest Base Camp, or drive to Mt. Everest Base Camp directly. The former one is more favorable by tourists.
The Tibetan tents are provided to tourists and some sleeping bags as well (we usually kindly suggested our guests to prepare the personal sleeping bags because it is much cleaner and comfortable) in Mt. Everest Base Camp, besides, there are some other facilities such as guesthouse, tea house, store and post office.
In the evening, the solar panel in front of the door could product the light. After a break, tourists can enjoy the scenery around the Mt. Everest then.
Mt. Everest stretches in Tibet, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan Kingdom, which the major part is located in the junction of China and Nepal. It is 8848 meters high. There are 4 mountain peaks which over 8000 meters high standing around the Mt. Everest, they are Makalu Mountain - 8463 meters high, Lhotse Mountain - 8516 meters high, Cho Oyu Mountain - 8201 meters high, and Shishapangma Mountain - 8012 meters high. Besides, there are other 38 high mountains which are over 7000 meters high surrounding Mt. Everest, too.
The mountains over 8000 meters high standing ranks in a line, which shock people an magnificent impression. The miracle of the form of the numerous high mountains standing together is the only one phenomenon throughout the world, which is much appreciated by people so much. And this is why we called Mt. Everest "The roof of the world".
Except 2 public toilets constructed in Mt. Everest Base Camp, there are no other permanent buildings. So the toilets are the symbol building of the modern times.
The best time to travel to Mt. Everest Base Camp every year is from early April to the later May when the top of Mt. Everest and the banner clouds around it is much possible to appreciate. Therefore lots of mountaineers and photographic enthusiasts would like to stationed in Mt. Everest Base Camp in this season. Different colorful tents are interspersed in the vast region, which is also one of the attractions in Mt. Everest Base Camp.
In 2005 the Mount Everest Height Measurement Monument has been established in the hillside west of Mt. Everest Base Camp after got a new measurement record. The straight-line distance between the monument and Mt. Everest is approximately 15 kilometers. It is the first time to build the height measurement monument in Mt. Everest Base Camp.
Mt. Everest is located on the boundary line about 100 kilometers away. The asphalt road condition is fine from Lhasa to Tingri, but it is not good enough from Tingri to Mt. Everest Base Camp, especially the road from Rongbuk Monastery to the Mt. Everest Base Camp.
Rongbuk Guesthouse is the only one available to stay around Mt. Everest Base Camp. Each bed costs about 50RMB. It is the best place to enjoy the scenery of sunrise and sunset. It is such a romantic experience with the people you cared each other.

Mt. Everest Base Camp costs 180 RMB each people, 600 RMB each car and additional 25 RMB each people of car environmental fare.
After checking of entering Mt. Everest area at checkpoint, we could enjoy 4 highest mountains which are over 8000 meters at Tsola Mountain Pass.
