There are many rare medical materials in the high land such as the Chinese caterpillar fungus and Fritillaria. Influenced by the complicated geography and terrain, the climate of Meili Snow Mountain is complex. In summer every year, the temperature in the river valley at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain is 11-29? and the temperature in the high land is -10? - 20?. The annual precipitation is 600 mm and mainly happens in June, July and August. The climate during this time is so changeable that it is prohibited to climb the Meili Snow Mountain.

1.You need to pass White Horse Mountain Pass on the way to Meili Snow Mountain. It is 4292 meters high. People who have the heart disease are not suggested to visit Meili Snow Mountain. 2.The most beautiful sceneries of Meili Snow Mountain are the sunset and sunrise. You'd better pay much attention to the weather before you depart.

3.The daily temperature difference is large. Please keep you warm especially in the morning and evening.

4.The best place to view and photograph Meili Snow Mountain is Deqyen Feilai Temple. But the elevation is relatively higher. Take care.

Meili Snow Mountain is situated in Deqyen County in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. You could fly to Shangri-la Airport and then transfer the bus to Deqyen County. You could drive yourself to Meili Snow Mountain, or rent a donkey or horse there. It is fine if you would like to trek there, too.
