Nyelam County - Brief Introduction

Nyelam County is situated in southwestern China between Himalaya Mountain Range and Lagwei Gangri Mountain Range. It is one of the boundary cities of Tibet.

Nyelam County is border to Tingri, Angren, Saga, and Gyirong respectively in the east, the north and the south. In the south, it is border to Nepal Kingdom. There are rich water resource in this county such as Pengkyu River, Pokyu River, Menkyu River, and Tsangla River, which Pokyu River has finally flowed into the Indian Ocean via Nepal.

Nyelam County is characteristic of plateau semi-humid climate zone features such as lower temperature and cold winter. The climate difference is much obviously from the south to the north.
